My brother fabricated this wood splitter to attach to the 3 point on his 20hp Yanmar diesel tractor. A two-stage hydraulic pump is powered off the PTO via #40 chain, to get the pump speed up. This clip has the tractor running at 2000 RPM, pump speed ~3600 RPM. The 3 point mount allows the height to be adjusted easily to minimize fatigue, and the whole rig can go wherever the wood pile is.
