@fricknjeep I like your compromise. I hated running a 20+ ton hydraulic splitter as a kid because you could always outwork it with a maul in straight wood.

A guy could always keep a rip filed chainsaw, a sledge and some wedges around to take care of the 5% of wood that won’t go through that.

hi there you either get speed or power as a rule in my $ range . this has a small bore cyd (3″) with a 8 gpm pump @ 1000 rpm. hyd psi of 2500 x area of cyd = a little over 8 tons of force . i find that will split about 95 % of the wood i put on it

how did you make it go so fast i guess i dont understand the hydraulics

thats sweet
