By DrJakeHenderson on August 9th, 2010 at 6:00 pm

where can I get one????????????????

if im thinkin of the maul your thinking of the 15 pounder imo its the most worthless piece of equipment i ever bought never gets used. i like this 1 pretty safe just dont put your hand between the screw and wood and youll be fine. but maybe your talking about the 8# mauls but even then i have never seen anybody swing them fast enough to keep up with a splitter.

For straight grained wood, try a monster maul, if you have one. If not, get one. I could split that wood in 2/3 of the time with one, and not burn gas to power the tractor in the process (and get an o.k. workout)

To lower heating bills, and to do real man’s work

I’ve a magled finger to prove that when they say keep the majority of the log on the right hand side they mean it.

By marek0086 on August 9th, 2010 at 8:26 pm

why are we splitting logs again??

By 6920sjohndeere on August 9th, 2010 at 9:21 pm

there the best log splitters and there easy
to make.

its all well and good. i still dont think it would pass aussie standards!! lol

They supply a length of strong string to attach to engine stop!
I don’t bother with it.
It must pass the safety rules I suppose.
There was also a guard rail around it originally which was perfectly positioned to hit your head on when lifting a heavy piece on to the table.
You’d have to be careless to get anything worse than a trapped finger (between part spilt bits of wood) – and that’s not something I’ve done.
When not operating camera I’d have gloves on so the glove might get trapped first!

it looks better than the other screw type i have see but wear is the safety shut off?

Who would’ve thunk?

interesting. never seen a splitter like this

Hydrocut are the company who manufacture the Hy-crack log splitter and have been doing so for over 30 years. A Hydrocut log splitter is a Hy-crack log splitter. They are the same thing.
