Cool video about manual log splitter, take a look:

www.survivalistboards.com A lot of people get a splitting maul and an axe confused. A splitting maul does a much better job at splitting wood then an axe. If the maul gets stuck, it can be drove through the wood, where an axe has to be pulled loose.

Interesting video – I have used an axe in the past but have just bought a sledge hammer and splitting maul – plus two heavy metal mauls – as it was too much effort with just an axe, particularly on the large logs that my axe simply could not cut.

whoever is videotaping this thing needs a fucking inhaler.

That’s a Go devil, not a maul.

Maul’s use a wedged portion behind an axe head, a go devil is all wedge.

But Go-devils and mauls work better than axes.

There you go.

Axes are for retarded fags.
I want a heavier mall, my wood plaster is way too light at 13 lbs.

i don’t think cory gives a shit

I’m glad! Today I just bought a splitting maul and a hatchet, primarily for camping purposes. I see that I made the right choice.

Faster too if you’re any good =D

Just kidding. I have a wood splitter but I’ve been using my maul and axe for the last few days. Much more peaceful and quiet.

Two words: wood splitter

Yeah, I understand you now. You get alot of “young hotshot know-it-alls” as you call them. I think thats what 90% on YouTube is. Bunch of 12 year olds that think they know it all and more.

The difference between a maul and an axe, and what each is used for. There are just a lot of people on YouTube that act like young hotshot know-it-alls. I have my own videos regarding firewood to back up what I say. Most of the trash talkers have no videos at all. But yeah, that’s it.

“I’ve been trying to tell people on YouTube the same thing you are saying but they keep giving me thumbs down. I glad there is someone else out there that knows what they are talking about.” And what are you tring to tell every one on YouTube? (Not being an ass. I really don’t know)

I stopes using axes, mauls, wedges and hammers when wood slpitters came out.
I still own many wedges mauls and such. But, after doing my own fire wood for 40+ years you get sick of doing it the old fassion way. Good clip. I cant tell you how meny people call all of my mauls axes. Some times the Ignorance of others gets annoying

I’ve been trying to tell people on YouTube the same thing you are saying but they keep giving me thumbs down. I glad there is someone else out there that knows what they are talking about.

why not put the log on a block and keep your edge sharp, you’d save muscle power that way. and for that little log you had you don’t need such a heavy tool. i’ve done much bigger with a gransfors bruks splitting axe.

Thanks for all your videos. All good things to know when there is nobody else to take care of you but yourself.
